JBATIK (Journal of Community Service in Information and Communication Technology) is published by the Informatics Department, Universitas Khairun.
This journal publishes articles that report the results of community service activities focusing on the application of information and communication technology (ICT) in various social and professional fields.

JBATIK is published twice a year, in February and November.

General Provisions

  1. Submitted manuscripts must be the results of ICT-based community service activities and have not been published or submitted to other journals.
  2. Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian using proper academic language.
  3. Manuscripts are submitted via the online submission system on the official JBATIK website. Authors must register an OJS account before submission.
  4. Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
  5. Authors must attach a similarity check report (PDF) with a maximum similarity score of 25%.
  6. The editorial decision (accepted or rejected) will be announced through the OJS system. Accepted manuscripts may be edited for formatting consistency without altering the content.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be written on A4 paper size, single column, single spacing, and should be 6–12 pages in length. Use Times New Roman, 11 pt font size.

1. Title

The title should be written in Indonesian and English, contain a maximum of 14 words, and clearly reflect the focus and findings of the community service activity. The title should be written in bold, centered text, and use capital letters at the beginning of each significant word.

2. Author Names and Affiliations

Author names should be written without academic titles. Institutional affiliations should be written in full. The e-mail address should only be included for the corresponding author.
All authors’ details (name, e-mail, and affiliation) must be completely filled out in the OJS system.

3. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstracts must be written in Indonesian and English, containing 150–200 words.

  • The abstract should include background, objectives, methods, main results, and conclusions.

  • Keywords (3–5 words or phrases) should be written in both Indonesian and English, and should reflect the main topics of the manuscript.

4. Introduction

This section should describe:

  • The background and problems addressed in the community service activity,

  • Relevant literature or theoretical framework,

  • The objectives of the activity, and

  • The importance of ICT application in the target community.
    The introduction should be written narratively and systematically, without subheadings.

5. Methods

This section should explain how the community service activity was conducted, including:

  • The target participants and location of the activity,

  • The stages or procedures implemented,

  • The technology or tools used, and

  • The evaluation process or success indicators.

6. Results and Discussion

This section presents the outcomes of the community service in tables, figures, or descriptive analysis. It should describe:

  • The impact of the activity on the community,

  • The effectiveness of ICT implementation, and

  • Comparisons with similar activities or relevant studies.
    The discussion should integrate data, analysis, and interpretation coherently.

7. Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the main outcomes and emphasize the real contribution of the ICT-based community service to the target community and its sustainability potential.

8. Acknowledgment (Optional)

This section may include acknowledgments for institutions, sponsors, or individuals who supported the implementation of the community service activity.

9. References

  • The reference list should include only the sources cited in the text.

  • References must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition citation style.

  • A minimum of 20 references is required, with 80% from primary sources (journals, proceedings, research reports) and a maximum of 20% from secondary sources (books, official websites, etc.).

  • Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero.
