WIRELESS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM (WDS) USING DD-WRT FIRMWARE ON WIRELESS ROUTERS (CASE STUDY MALUT POS)

The research aims to design a WDS with DD-WRT firmware using a Linksys E1200 Wireless Router to connect a computer network in the Malut Post office. Therefore, this research can be an option to be used at the Malut Post Office in order to increase the efficiency of performance at the Malut Post office. Measurement of WDS performance on the Linksys E1200 device uses Quality of Services by calculating throughput, delay, jitter and packet loss when data traffic occurs on the built computer network. The test is carried out on a computer network with WDS and without WDS where the results are observed and calculated using the equations of Troughput, Delay, Jitter and Packet Loss, respectively. The test results show the QoS number score where the test without WDS throughput index gets an average of 2.6 in the moderate category, the delay index is 4 good categories, the jitter index gets a value of 3.3 in the Good category, the packet loss index gets 4 in the Very Good category. while using the WDS throughput index got an average of 2 in the Medium category, 4 delay indexes were good categories, the jitter index got 3 good categories, the packet loss index got 3.3 in the Good category, then for the overall QoS parameter the value is, Computer networks that are built without WDS get a QoS Index with a value of 3.3 and with WDS get a value of 3.1 where both are in the Satisfactory category. This result provides knowledge that both Network methods are equally good to apply.
