Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competency of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) teachers in supporting thematic Social Studies (IPS) learning at Gemia 1 Public Elementary School. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies of PPKn teachers significantly influence the effectiveness of integrating civic values into thematic Social Studies learning. It was also found that although most teachers possess adequate competency foundations, challenges remain in mastering thematic strategies and utilizing innovative learning media. This study recommends strengthening integrated thematic training and increasing collaboration between subject teachers to support more contextual and meaningful learning.
