Estimasi Simpanan Karbon Dioksida Terumbu Karang (Studi Kasus Hol Sulamadaha Kota Ternate)

Abstrak

Terumbu karang merupakan salah satu ekosistem laut yang memiliki peran penting dalam siklus karbon global. Ekosistem ini mampu menyerap dan menyimpan karbon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis persen tutupan karang dan luas area terumbu karang, menganalisis serapan karbon terumbu karang, dan menganalisis simpanan karbon dioksida di Perairan Hol Sulamadaha. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persen tutupan terumbu karang di Hol Sulamadaha sebesar 27,34% dengan luas terumbu karang 0,42 Ha. Nilai serapan karbon terumbu karang sebesar 3,66 ton C dan simpanan karbon dioksida (CO2) sebesar 13,45 ton CO2/Ha. Berdasarkan simulasi, peningkatan persen tutupan karang sebesar 5% per tahun maka membutuhkan waktu 9 tahun untuk mencapai persen tutupan maksimal terumbu karang yaitu 98%, dengan nilai serapan karbon 57,66 ton C dan nilai simpanan karbon dioksida (CO2) sebesar 211,61 ton CO2/Ha.
