The Corresponding Author, who is usually the Author submitting the paper, will be asked to confirm that the article is original and is not being considered for peer-reviewed publication elsewhere. Identify Authorship
The author list must include everyone who can legally claim authorship. The aithors are those who:
- Have substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data;
- Drafting articles or revising them critically for important intellectual content;
- Approve the final version of the manuscript to be published;
- Each author must participate sufficiently in its work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content.
Therefore, obtaining funding, collecting data, or general supervision of a research group does not constitute authorship, but contributors who do not meet these criteria for authorship may be listed in the Acknowledgments section. Individuals designated as authors must meet the requirements to be authors and all those who meet the requirements must be listed. Each author must participate sufficiently in his work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content.
Changes to Authorship
Authors are expected to carefully consider the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide a definitive list of authors at the time of submission of the original manuscript. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of the author's name in the authorship list must be done only before the manuscript is accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. To request such changes, the Editor must receive the following from the corresponding author: (a) the reason for the change to the author list and (b) written confirmation (email, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, deletion or rearrangement. If there is an addition or deletion of authors, there must be confirmation from the authors added or deleted. The editor may consider adding, deleting, or rearranging authors after a manuscript is accepted only under certain circumstances or conditions. If the Editor agrees to the request, publication of the manuscript will be suspended. If the manuscript has been published in an online publication, any request approved by the Editor will result in a corrigendum.
Disagreement about Authorship
If there is disagreement among the authors regarding authorship and a satisfactory agreement cannot be reached, then the authors should contact their institution for a resolution. Resolving authorship disputes is not the responsibility of the editor-in-chief or publisher.
Citation of Literature or Other Works
Articles submitted to the Jurnal Penelitian Peternakan Kepulauan must cite literature that is appropriate and relevant to the topic discussed and supports claims/research results or ideas. Quoting one's own work excessively, and/or coordinating among several authors to quote oneself collectively is an inappropriate effort and is highly discouraged.
Authors should consider the following guidelines when preparing their manuscript:
- All statements that rely on external sources of information (not new ideas or findings or the author's general knowledge) must use quotations.
- Quotations that are derivative of the original work (quotations within quotations) should be avoided. In practice, this means that authors must cite the original work, not review articles that cite the original work.
- Authors must ensure that their quotations support the statements made in their manuscript.
- Reference sources that have not been read by the author may not be cited.
- Authors are advised not to excessively cite their own publications or those of friends, colleagues, or institutions.
- Where possible, authors should cite sources that have undergone a peer-review process.
- Authors may not quote advertisements or advertorial material.
Conflict of Interest
The Jurnal Penelitian Peternakan Kepulauan requires authors to declare all conflicts of interest related to their work. Authors are requested to confirm that there is no conflict of interest during electronic submission of the manuscript. All authors are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest, including financial, personal, or other relationships with other people or organizations within three years of the start of the submitted work, that may affect, or be perceived to threaten, the welfare of the subject.
Acknowledgements
All contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria should be listed in the Acknowledgments section. For example, someone who provides only technical assistance or writing assistance, or a department chair who provides only general support.
Plagiarism Detection
The peer review process is central to the success of scientific publications. The Jurnal Penelitian Peternakan Kepulauan is always committed to protecting and improving the peer review process.
The editorial board is very strict about plagiarism. We believe that taking other people's ideas and work without giving them credit is unfair and dishonest. Copying even one sentence from someone else's manuscript, or even one of your own previously published sentences, without proper citation is considered self-plagiarism. The editorial board has absolute authority to reject the manuscript review process if there is minor or major plagiarism and can even cancel publication based on complaints from plagiarism victims.
Review Guidelines
The peer review process aims to guarantee the quality of the article substance, with the aim of gaining new knowledge and skills that provide practical benefits for Journal readers.
Two reviewers will be selected and assigned to review each article. The results of the review will be evaluated by the Managing Editor, who makes the initial decision to accept, reject, or ask the author to revise the article.
Peer reviewers determine whether the article is substantive and accurate, with appropriate scope and sufficient detail. The topic of the manuscript should not be too broad or general. Constructive comments and suggestions are highly expected to motivate the author in improving the article (if necessary) and guide the author in presenting the material clearly and concisely. Reviewers must remain fair and impartial in their critical assessment of the material.
Review Process and Time Period
The review was double-blinded; This means that reviewers and authors are not informed of each other's identities during the review process. If the reviewer, Managing Editor, and/or Editor-in-Chief feel that further revisions are necessary, the manuscript may undergo several reviews.
Reviewers should be careful not to identify themselves, or their institutions in the content of their comments. Reviews will be read by the assigned Managing Editor, who makes the initial decision to accept or reject, or asks the author to revise the article. The Managing Editor may also ask reviewers to comment on extensively revised articles that he or she previously reviewed in previous versions.
Reviews must be returned timely, within 4 weeks of invitation, as determined by the Editorial Board of Directors. Because the Managing Editor's decision must wait until all reviews are complete, delays made by a reviewer will slow down the editorial process. A reviewer may agree to review an article only if the reviewer has the appropriate expertise and is confident that the reviewer can meet the deadline.
Preparing Reviewer Reviews
Please consider the following when accepting an invitation and/or preparing a review.
- If the reviewer has a conflict of interest (for example, the reviewer believes that the reviewer knows who the authors are or the reviewer works with one of the authors, the reviewer has worked on the manuscript with one of the authors, or the reviewer has financial, professional, personal, intellectual, political interests/disagreements, or religion), then respond to the invitation to review by notifying the editor of your conflict of interest. Complete responses enable informed decisions to be made.
- If the reviewer perceives that the article has substantial similarities to a concurrent submission to another journal or published article, or if the reviewer has ethical concerns about the work (e.g., the reviewer suspects that the results cited may be incorrect or fraudulent, or the reviewer suspects presence of unethical treatment of humans or animals in the studies described), then reviewers have a responsibility to alert the Managing Editor of such concerns. Reviewers should not conduct any personal investigations into suspected violations or contact the authors (if the reviewer knows their identity), unless the editorial party requests further information.
- The reviewer's ethical responsibility as a reviewer is not to use the reviewed material before publication, and the reviewer must not discuss the article publicly or use knowledge about the article for the reviewer's own benefit.
