THE DESIGN OF INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR ACADEMIC COUNSELING ON INFORMATICS ENGINEERING PROGRAMS UNKHAIR WEB-BASED

The problem with academic guidance in unkhair informatics engineering that currently occurs is that lecturers don’t keep the history of students who have been supervised by each PA (academic counselors). However, students only come for consultations with academic supervisors, and notes are only given to students. Sometimes there are students who are guided by PA lecturers that are not controlled, causing the process of academic advising in the Informatics Engineering study program to be less well controlled. The web-based design of the Academic Guidance Information System for Informatics Engineering Study Program of Unkhair can make it easier for lecturers and students to carry out the online academic guidance process and can be well controlled by PA lecturers and study program heads. so, students no longer need to go to campus to get academic guidance and the guidance reports are more organized and easy to get when it needed. The system was created using a prototype development method which consists of the stages of analyzing the needs of making an academic guidance system, academic guidance system design, the modeling's illustrated using UML diagrams, and Blackbox as a system test. There are several tests using blackbox including user login testing, managing student's data, managing lecturer data, managing academic counselors data, guidance, managing guidance report data, student lists and managing user data, the test used by testing each process and possible errors which occurs in every process. The results of this study indicate the accuracy in the online guidance process where the guidance result data is well organized in the system and stored in the database.
